Platinum Domains Terms of Use

Platinum Domains ("we", "us", "our") operates platinumdomains.co.uk and any other websites linking to these Terms of Use ("the Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use.

We sell domain names and provide information relating to domain name availability. We may update, change, suspend, or remove any part of the Site at any time without notice. We are not responsible if the Site is unavailable for any period.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over to purchase a domain name. If you use the Site on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be published on the Site. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Domain Sales

All domain names are sold as-is. We do not guarantee:

  • future value
  • suitability for any purpose
  • search ranking
  • legal status
  • trademark availability
  • future ownership or renewal

Once payment is received and the transfer process begins, the sale is final.

4. Digital Services – No Right to Cancel

Domain names are classed as digital services and digital content under UK consumer law.

By purchasing a domain name, you expressly agree that:

  • the transfer begins immediately, and
  • you waive your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

There are no refunds, no cancellations, and no returns once the transfer has started.

This applies even if:

  • you change your mind
  • you purchased in error
  • you no longer want the domain
  • you cannot use the domain
  • your registrar has issues
  • you fail to renew the domain later

5. Transfer Completion

A domain transfer is complete when:

  • the registrant details are updated, or
  • the domain is pushed to the buyer's account.

Once transferred, Platinum Domains has no further involvement with the domain.

6. Renewal Responsibility

After transfer, the buyer is fully responsible for:

  • renewal fees
  • expiry dates
  • registrar settings
  • DNS configuration
  • Nominet compliance
  • any technical or administrative management

Platinum Domains does not:

  • remind buyers to renew
  • manage domains after sale
  • monitor expiry
  • intervene with registrars or Nominet

If the buyer fails to renew, the domain may be suspended, cancelled, or deleted. Platinum Domains is not liable for any resulting loss.

7. Nominet Disputes and Legal Claims

Once transferred, the buyer becomes the legal registrant.

Platinum Domains is not responsible for:

  • Nominet DRS complaints
  • trademark disputes
  • legal claims
  • rights challenges
  • suspensions or cancellations
  • any third-party action taken against the domain

All such matters are strictly between the buyer and Nominet or the relevant third party.

8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Because domain transfers are irreversible digital services, buyers cannot:

  • reverse the transaction
  • request a chargeback
  • dispute the payment
  • claim non-delivery once transfer has begun

Any attempt to do so will be contested with evidence of transfer initiation.

9. User Content

If you submit any content (messages, enquiries, etc.), you grant us permission to use it for the operation of the Site. You must not submit anything unlawful, offensive, misleading, or infringing.

10. Prohibited Use

You must not:

  • use the Site unlawfully
  • attempt to interfere with the Site
  • impersonate any person or business
  • upload harmful or misleading content
  • attempt unauthorised access

11. Accuracy of Information

Information on the Site is provided for general guidance only. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability.

12. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Platinum Domains is not liable for:

  • loss of profits
  • business interruption
  • loss of data
  • indirect or consequential losses
  • issues caused by registrars, hosting providers, or Nominet
  • any loss arising from non-renewal
  • any dispute arising after transfer

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
